Westlake Chemical contracted with Hayden Wrecking to demolish the existing 45’ x 60′ × 50’ tall 2 cell cooling tower during a department shutdown. The cooling tower was adjacent to a control room and equipment that was to remain in place. The basin for the cooling tower was to remain in place and to be left undamaged. The project schedule allowed 12 hours to complete demolition and clean up so a new cooling tower could be erected in the same foot print. Rentech Nitrogen contracted with Hayden Wrecking to dismantle the existing 140′ tall Prill Tower within their operating facility. The Prill Tower was aluminum construction and was surrounded by operating facilities and structures that were to remain in place. Hayden Wrecking utilized a lattice boom crane and its trained demolition craftsmen to dismantle the Prill Tower in sections. The sections were further dismantled utilizing a standard size demolition excavator equipped with a rotating shear then loaded into recycling containers.

Weyerhaeuser contracted with Hayden Wrecking to dismantle a Salt Cake Tower and Calciner at its facility in Oglethorpe, GA. Both structures were in close proximity to existing operations. Hayden Wrecking demolition craftsmen trained in lead exposure utilized manlifts, cutting torches, and a hydraulic crane to dismantle the Salt Cake Tower. The breaker building contained numerous types of process equipment. These precipitators and structures were located between rotary kilns and a stack that were to remain in place. A portion of the precipitators contained asbestos so Hayden Wrecking subcontracted the removals to an asbestos abatement firm. Magnus Pacific subcontracted with Hayden Wrecking to provide a 90’ Ultra High Demolition Excavator equipped with rotating work tools and a Demolition Operator to demolish and dismantle the existing structures. Atlas Industrial Contractors subcontracted the removal of the existing equipment and structures to Hayden Wrecking. The project schedule required the work to be performed working 12 hour shifts around the clock until it was completed so the plant could resume operations. SP Cooling Technologies was contracted by PCS Nitrogen to replace their existing 6 cell cooling tower at their facility in Lima, OH. SPX Cooling Technologies subcontracted with Hayden Wrecking to perform the demolition of the existing cooling tower during a plant shutdown.
